Biography of American Negro poet who was active during the 1920's in the Harlem-centered Negro Renaissance, Countee Cullen. Working alongside men like W.E.B. Du Bois, James Weldon Johnson, Alain Locke, Langston Hughes, Eric Walrond and Arna Bontempts, Countee Cullen attempted to change the stereotyped view of the Negro and open new opportunities for black artists in America.
