Peoples of Africa

Peoples of Africa furnishes lively, first hand descriptive analyses of fifteen tribal groups representative of the peoples of sub-Saharan Africa.  Among the societies described are groups representative of each of the major forms of subsistence, major culture areas and ecological zones, indigenous racial stocks, and major language families of sub-Saharan Africa.  The tribal groups included, or their culture clusters are prominently represented in the literature on African societies.
