Sorrow's Kitchen: The Life and Folklore of Zora Neale Hurston

Moving from Florida to New York as part of the "Great Migration" of African Americans to the North during the early 20th century, Zora Neale Hurston became a significant writer and figure in the Harlem Renaissance.  She was particularly interested in collecting and preserving the folklore of her native South and the West Indies.
