Women's rights in the United States: a documentary history

Designed for the research needs of high school and college students. The volume provides 125 documents organized into five chronological periods from colonial times through 1993. While some of these documents can be found elsewhere in basic reference sources, others are not as readily available. The strength of this source is that it pulls these documents together into a thematic volume and makes them easily accessible. The introductory material is very helpful and the documents are of readable lengths for high school students. The chronological arrangement allows the user to trace the development of the women's rights movement and could be intergrated easily into a traditional U.S. history curriculum or a thematic unit. The volume's arrangement and documentation enhances its use for individual research needs.
