Description
Published by Falling Wall Press, and translated by Celia Britton, this pamphlet of socialist feminist theory provides a historical and theoretical account of women's organizing in the Russian turn of the century socialist movement. Published by a Women's Liberation Movement press, with introduction and notes by Sheila Rowbotham and Suzie Fleming, the pamphlet was intended to help justify "the separate organisation of women," a "defensive posture" no longer necessary in 1973, when this third edition was published. Instead, the "creation of... socialist feminist theory" is emphasized and valued.
