Description

Compilation zine documenting and sharing experiences of female activists in leftist spaces, particularly with misogyny or sexism. Includes many testimonies about direct action and resulting police violence or experiences of arrest. The zine is the "afterbirth" of a coalition which worked to organize against "APEC" economic leaders' meeting at the University of British Columbia in 1997. Gender dynamics in this group were unpleasant and discussions about them led to a number of resolutions, including to "create space for women to share their experiences," including via the compilation and publication of this zine. Includes a number of individual testimonies and some descriptions of ongoing group projects by feminist or women's activist collectives. Includes one comic.
