African American Heritage: Female Leaders

This is a collection of biographies that examine the lives of eight black Americans who shared a courage to stand up for their beliefs. These women include Shirley Chisholm, Marian Wright Edelman, Barbara Jordan, Coretta Scott King, Carol Moseley-Braun, Rosa Parks, Madam C.J. Walker, and Ida B. Wells-Barnett.
