Dehumanization of Man, The

Montagu and Matson dissect and examine the narcissistic and self-destructive aspects of modern society- its science and sexuality, cults and culture, sports and entertainment.  The authors diagnose tne disease of the modern spirit as the "dehuman syndrome".  Among the problems discussed are the disappearance of privacy, the subversion of political ideals, the destruction of spirit and the amateur tradition, and the corruption of ideals.
