Heaven: Will Protect the Working Girl

At the beginning of the 20th century, the arrival of millions of immigrants, many from southern and eastern Europe, changed life in cities across the United States. Framed by the 1909 shirtwaist workers' strike, this video tells the story of two fictional NYC immigrant teenagers who worked in the garment industry in the first decade of the 20th century.
