Description

The idea was to use our travels as an opportunity to educate ourselves and others about what's going on in the world. I mean, what's really going on, not the six o'clock news soundbite. And most of the major stuff, that actually affects people's lives, doesn't even get the soundbite, let alone actually penetrate the consciousness of most Americans.

A series of thorough, thoughtful interviews conducted by Ronni Tartlet around the Middle East and Asia in 1999. Woman organizers interviewed include Amal Jadou of the Palestinian Prisoner Society, Jean Enriquez of the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women and Maitet Pascual of the Freedom from Debt Coalition.
